Dive into the soulful universe of Black Pumas, an American psychedelic soul band hailing from the vibrant musical scene of Austin, Texas. Fronted by the charismatic singer/songwriter Eric Burton and backed by the guitar prowess of producer Adrian Quesada, Black Pumas garnered attention with their debut album, earning a Grammy Award nomination for Best New Artist in 2020.
Musical Convergence in Austin
In 2017, Eric Burton, a California native with roots in church singing and musical theater, found his way to Texas. Busking at the Santa Monica Pier honed his performance skills, and after studying music in New Mexico, he decided to make Austin his creative hub. Grammy-winning guitarist Adrian Quesada, seeking a new collaboration, connected with Burton through a mutual friend. Recognizing Burton's vocals as a perfect fit for his retro-funk and R&B tracks, they joined forces in 2018 to create the dynamic sound of Black Pumas.

Black Pumas embarked on their musical journey by refining their material through live performances at Austin's C-Boys Heart & Soul Bar. In 2020, Black Pumas received Grammy nominations for "Colors" and their self-titled album, marking a total of six Grammy nominations.
