Der Nussknacker will be presented as a festive concert-ballet at Oper Leipzig on 2026-12-02, inviting audiences in Leipzig to experience Tchaikovsky's glittering score brought to life by the house orchestra and a company of dancers. The historic opera house provides an intimate yet grand setting where sumptuous costumes, inventive stagecraft, and choreography sweep the audience from a cozy family parlor into the magical Land of Sweets. Under a conductor who teases out the score's shimmering strings and joyful brass, delicate solos and thunderous ensemble passages alternate to create moments of tenderness and exuberant spectacle. This concert offers both longtime lovers of the ballet and newcomers a seasonally radiant evening, and advance tickets are recommended as performances at Oper Leipzig traditionally sell out quickly.
