On 18 November 2026 Jan Garbarek feat. Trilok Gurtu will take the stage at the Historische Stadthalle Wuppertal as part of the 47. Leverkusener Jazztage 2026, presenting a rare and intimate concert in the heart of Wuppertal. Garbarek's luminous, breath-driven saxophone lines will weave through Gurtu's intricate, globally inflected percussion, creating spacious soundscapes that the hall's warm acoustics will amplify with crystalline clarity. The program promises a fluid blend of lyrical improvisation, meditative motifs and rhythmic complexity that draws on Nordic folk hues, Indian rhythmic cycles and decades of improvisational dialogue between two masters. Audience members can expect moments of hushed intensity, jubilant interplay and extended passages where silence and tone hold equal weight, making each piece unfold like a carefully shaped conversation. For those planning to attend, advance tickets are recommended to secure seating for this singular meeting of musical worlds in one of Wuppertal's most historic venues.
