MAFFAY + OERDING: NASHVILLE LIVE 2027 | Logen-Seat, Berlin
Johannes Oerding, the accomplished German singer-songwriter born on December 26, 1981, has left an indelible mark on the music scene with his soulful tunes and captivating performances. Raised in Geldern-Kapellen, near the Dutch border, Oerding's early exposure to music came when he showcased his talents at a local block party in Iserlohn in 1999. This marked the beginning of a remarkable journey that has taken him to the forefront of the German music industry.
Early Life
Hailing from Münster, North Rhine-Westphalia, Johannes Oerding is the son of a country doctor and a nurse. Growing up with two brothers and two sisters, his family background laid the foundation for his artistic pursuits. Despite his early musical inclinations, Oerding initially ventured into International Marketing, earning a diploma from Fontys University of Applied Sciences in Venlo, Netherlands. However, his passion for music eventually led him to Hamburg in 2006, where he would embark on a professional music career.
Career Beginnings
In Hamburg, Oerding crossed paths with singer-songwriter Michy Reincke, his neighbor in Barmbek-Süd, who played a pivotal role in securing his first gigs. In 2009, Oerding released his debut single, "Die Tage werden anders sein," under Columbia Records. Although his first album, "Erste Wahl," initially failed to chart, a reissue in 2010, featuring the single "Engel," garnered significant attention and peaked at number 39 on the German Albums Chart.
Chart-Topping Success
Johannes Oerding's musical journey reached new heights with subsequent albums. His third studio album, "Für immer ab jetzt" (2013), achieved gold certification in Germany, marking his first top-ten album. The success continued with "Alles brennt" (2015), his highest-charting album at number three on the German Albums Chart, and subsequent releases like "Kreise" (2017) and "Konturen" (2019), both earning platinum certifications.
Recent Achievements
In 2021, Oerding showcased his musical expertise as a coach on the eleventh season of "The Voice of Germany" and emerged victorious alongside his artist Sebastian Krenz. His latest endeavor, the album "Plan A," released on November 4, 2022, has already made waves, claiming the top spot on the German Albums Chart.
