Ne-Yo is an American singer, songwriter, and actor who rose to fame in the mid-2000s with hits such as "So Sick" and "Sexy Love." Born in Arkansas as Shaffer Chimere Smith, he adopted the stage name Ne-Yo in honor of his grandfather, who taught him how to sing. Ne-Yo began his career as a songwriter, writing hits for artists such as Mary J. Blige and Britney Spears before releasing his own debut album, "In My Own Words," in 2006.
Since then, Ne-Yo has released a total of eight studio albums, with his most recent being "Another Kind of Christmas" in 2020. In addition to his successful music career, Ne-Yo has also ventured into acting, with roles in films such as "Stomp the Yard" and "Red Tails." He has also served as a judge on talent competition shows such as "The Voice UK" and "World of Dance."
