New Order

New Order are an English rock band that formed in 1980 after Joy Division’s frontman suicide. Musicians from Joy Division, i.e. Bernard Sumner, Peter Hook and Stephen Morris decided to create a new band – New Order – inviting also Gillian Gilbert to co-work. Their music is a combination of post-punk, electronic and dance music. They became one of the most influential bands of the 1980s (if not of all time). Their single ‘Blue Monday’ is a world-wide hit and the albums like Power, Corruption & Lies (1983), Technique (1989) and Substance (1987) are the flagship examples of new wave kind of music.
