OMD, which stands for Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark, is a British electronic music band formed in 1978 in Wirral, England. The band consists of co-founders Andy McCluskey (vocals, bass) and Paul Humphreys (keyboards, vocals), as well as Martin Cooper (various instruments) and Stuart Kershaw (drums). OMD's music is known for its blend of synth-pop and new wave influences, and the band has released a total of 14 studio albums.
OMD's early hits such as "Electricity" and "Enola Gay" brought them international fame in the 1980s, and they continued to release successful albums throughout the decade. The band went on hiatus in 1996 but reformed in 2006 and has been active since then, releasing new music and touring.
