On 2026-12-18 at TEMPPELIAUKION KIRKKO in Helsinki, the UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra joins singer Anna Airola for Pähkinänsärkijä, a spellbinding concert that reimagines familiar holiday melodies with bold jazz arrangements and intimate, improvisational moments. The church's unique rock-hewn architecture and resonant acoustics will bathe Airola's expressive vocals and UMO's dynamic brass and rhythm sections in a warm, enveloping sound, turning each passage into a cinematic experience. Audiences can expect inventive takes on beloved themes, virtuosic solos, and lush ensemble textures that bridge classical charm and contemporary jazz sensibility, making the evening equally appealing to longtime jazz fans and those seeking a fresh seasonal tradition.
