Paul Melvyn Carrack, born on April 22, 1951, is an English singer, musician, songwriter, and composer with a prolific career both as a solo artist and a member of various influential bands. Nicknamed "The Man with the Golden Voice" by the BBC, Carrack has left an indelible mark on the music industry with his soulful vocals and remarkable musical contributions.

Career Highlights:

Carrack gained prominence in the mid-1970s as the frontman and primary songwriter for the rock band Ace, achieving success with the hit single "How Long" in 1975. His journey continued with significant roles in Squeeze and Roger Waters' backing band, the Bleeding Heart Band.

In the mid-1980s to the late 1990s, Carrack's career soared as the co-lead vocalist and songwriter for Mike + The Mechanics. Notable hits from this period include "Silent Running (On Dangerous Ground)," "The Living Years," and "Over My Shoulder."

Carrack's soulful voice has graced various chart-topping tracks, including Ace's "How Long," Squeeze's "Tempted," and Mike + The Mechanics' iconic singles. His versatility as a vocalist is evident in collaborations with artists like Roger Waters, Eagles, and many others.

The 1990s saw Carrack continuing his solo career, contributing to projects like Spin 1ne 2wo, and rejoining Squeeze for a brief period. His role as a session musician extended to collaborations with the Smiths, the Pretenders, and others.

From 2000 onwards, Carrack maintained an active solo career, touring extensively and releasing albums that showcase his enduring talent. His contributions to the Eagles' album "Long Road Out of Eden" and collaborations with Eric Clapton underscore his enduring influence.

Recent and Future Endeavors:

In 2021, Carrack released the album "One on One," featuring the single "You're Not Alone." Despite facing health challenges, Carrack continues to captivate audiences with his soulful performances.
