Till Brönner & SWR Big Band - ITALIA - Ancora!
On 2027-05-17 the Till Brönner & SWR Big Band - ITALIA - Ancora! concert transforms Open Air Am Tanzbrunnen Köln in the city of Cologne into a radiant Italian evening where Brönner’s luminous trumpet and the SWR Big Band’s lush, cinematic arrangements bring beloved Italian melodies and modern reinterpretations to life; expect sweeping film scores, romantic ballads, rhythmic swing and surprising new textures woven together in masterful big-band form. The outdoor setting at Tanzbrunnen, with the Rhine breeze and atmospheric lighting, will amplify the warmth and intimacy of the performances while allowing the band’s powerful brass sections and delicate solo moments to breathe across the open-air amphitheater. Audiences can look forward to a program that celebrates Italy’s musical heritage with both reverence and creative flair, featuring stirring crescendos, tender improvisations, and vibrant ensemble passages that highlight Brönner’s virtuosity and the ensemble’s impeccable dynamics. This special concert evening promises something for longtime jazz lovers and newcomers alike, offering a cinematic, emotional journey that is at once nostalgic and freshly inventive. With limited capacity and high demand, tickets are expected to move quickly for this unforgettable fusion of Italian songbook and contemporary big-band artistry.
