David Hermlin and his Swing Dance Orchestra - Christmas in Swing
On 2026-12-15, David Hermlin and his Swing Dance Orchestra bring Christmas in Swing to the Konzerthaus Berlin’s Großer Saal in Berlin, transforming the historic hall into a glittering dancefloor with a festive big-band sound. The concert blends timeless swing standards, jazzy arrangements of holiday favorites and lively instrumental solos, driven by Hermlin’s charismatic vocals and the orchestra’s tight horn sections, swinging rhythms and toe-tapping energy. Audiences can expect lush orchestration, skillful improvisation from soloists, warm brass and shimmering strings supported by a rhythm section that invites dancing or simply reveling in the holiday spirit. The Konzerthaus’s renowned acoustics and elegant architecture enhance the evening’s intimacy while accommodating the exuberant big-band dynamics. With seasonal classics arranged for swing and contemporary favorites given a nostalgic twist, the program creates moments of rousing ensemble power and tender, quiet interludes perfect for both longtime jazz fans and newcomers. Fans in Berlin and visitors alike are encouraged to secure tickets early for this must-see holiday concert, which promises a glamorous, foot-stomping celebration of Christmas and swing.
