Jools Holland and His Rhythm and Blues Orchestra
On 16 December 2026 Jools Holland and His Rhythm and Blues Orchestra bring their exuberant piano-led big band to York Barbican for a night of boogie-woogie, soulful blues and brassy swing that will transform the venue into a celebratory music hall. Expect a tight rhythm section, a powerhouse horn section and a rotating cast of guest vocalists who trade soulful leads and crowd-pleasing singalongs as the band moves effortlessly between vintage R&B classics and high-energy arrangements. The concert promises both virtuosic musicianship and a warm, party-like atmosphere ideal for a festive evening in the city of York, and audience members are advised to secure tickets early to avoid disappointment. York Barbican’s acoustics and intimate yet vibrant setting will showcase Jools Holland’s renowned piano playing and the orchestra’s dynamic interplay, making this December date a highlight of the winter live-music season.
