Michael Wollny & Joachim Kühn
On 14 May 2027 Michael Wollny & Joachim Kühn take the stage at the Prinzregententheater in Munich for an evening that promises a rare meeting of two singular pianistic voices, where dazzling technique and deep, spontaneous dialogue fuse into a concert of dynamic contrasts and intimate moments; the program weaves originals, reimagined standards and improvised passages into a narrative that moves from thunderous intensity to whisper-soft reflection, each pianist responding to and reshaping the other's ideas in real time. The theater's warm, resonant acoustics amplify the nuance of touch and pedal, making fast runs shimmer and quiet cadences sustain like a held breath, while the historic architecture frames the performance with a sense of ceremony and close connection between players and audience. Listeners can expect surprising harmonic turns, cross-generational rapport, and a fluid sense of time that transforms familiar forms into fresh, immediate music, creating an evening that stays with you long after the final chord. For those planning to attend, tickets for this exceptional concert are likely to go quickly, and arriving early to soak in the pre-show atmosphere of this Munich landmark will only deepen the experience.
