Bodo Wartke & Melanie Haupt - Antigone
On 2026-12-02 at Theater Akzent in Vienna, Bodo Wartke and Melanie Haupt present Antigone in a compelling concert-theatre evening that blends the raw power of Greek tragedy with contemporary musical sensibilities. Wartke's incisive piano storytelling and Haupt's expressive vocal and dramatic presence create an intimate yet expansive performance that reimagines Sophocles' heroine for modern audiences. The production balances haunting melodies, incisive dialogue, and moments of wry humor to illuminate themes of resistance, duty, and love, while the staging at Theater Akzent uses close-up theatricality to draw the audience into each moral conflict. Audiences seeking a thought-provoking evening of music and theatre will find this concert a rare opportunity, and tickets are expected to sell quickly, so early booking is recommended.
