Die Nacht der 1000 Kerzen - The Gregorian Voices (UA) zum 1. Weihnachtsfeiertag
On 25 December 2026 the Marienkirche in Dessau-Rosslau will host Die Nacht der 1000 Kerzen - The Gregorian Voices (UA) zum 1. Weihnachtsfeiertag, a candlelit evening that blends ancient Gregorian chant with contemporary vocal arrangements presented as a Uraufführung (world premiere). The church's vaulted interior and historic organ provide a luminous acoustic backdrop, and, true to its name, the nave will be warmed by the glow of a thousand candles, inviting visitors into a meditative, festive soundscape that honors the first day of Christmas. The ensemble The Gregorian Voices will lead sacred melodies and modern harmonizations that carry through the stonework, offering intimate solos and resplendent choral moments designed to stir reflection and celebration. Concert-goers are advised to secure tickets early to ensure their place at this singular Yuletide experience in Dessau-Rosslau.
